"Dan is a 2nd semester addition to our squad.
He missed playing competitive basketball last
semester. He is a solid student and he has a good work ethic and is determined to make a contribution this
year. His ability to handle the ball and defend against bigger and
quicker guards will probably determine his playing time more than anything
else." |

...transfer from WMU...All Big 8 performer in his
senior year at St. Joseph, averaging 8.5 points and 4 assists per game...coached by former
Cougar, Gregg Schaffer...MVP for St. Joe in his senior season...was All Conference twice in Soccer and also
received All Regional, All District, and 3rd Team All State soccer honors
in both his Jr. and Sr. years in high school...averaged 8.1 pts and 3.4
assists last year for the Cougars...led the Cougars with a sparkling .872
FT Pct. as a freshman...scored a season high 20 in KVCC's final regional
game against Owens...majoring in Special EducationCoach's Comments: "Ryan
is nursing a fractured vertabrae, an injury that occurred in high school
and has flared up early in tryouts. He is a tough competitor and
showed steady improvement last season. He excels in dribbling the
basketball and running the team, and he can shoot with the best. His
ability to defend bigger guards should continue to improve with
experience. We need him to stay healthy!" |

Giants...coached by long-time summer camp staffer, Eco Dunning...averaged
10.2 points and 3.4 assists and dropped in 15 points as his team played in
the state final for the first time in 50 years...Gazette Prep Star of the
Week in both basketball and golf for KC...during his senior year he led
his team from the FT line with 81% accuracy...Regional Medalist and State
Finalist in MHSAA Golf Tournament...recovering slowly but surely from foot
surgery resulting from a serious car accident in late July...3.4 high
school GPA...undecided on a major at this time, but would like to coach
basketball and/or golf in the futureCoach's
Comments: "Ricky has been around basketball all his life.
He is a fine shooter and understands the game well. His
determination and courage to comeback as well as his unselfish team play
make him likely to contribute heavily this year. He must improve his
dribbling skills and defend quick guards better to realize his full
potential." |

playing time his freshman year, he has returned much improved. His
confidence, quickness, and defensive concentration have shown significant
development. He is an excellent team player, and his

game for his 14-7 Muskegon High team where he was coached by Art Duren...selected by the Muskegon Chronicle
as All Area Honorable Mention his junior year, and All Area 1st Team his
senior year...scored 18
in the Ta-Wa-Si All Star Game in Grand Rapids...majoring in Secondary

"Dominick was pressed into greater
playing time at the break last year. He is a versatile athlete, with
his strengths being his desire and his quickness. His defense
continues to improve and he is already established as one of the best
rebounders in the league. Continued leadership and all around skill
development will result in him being a key contributor to the Cougar cause
again this season." |

...Mohamed did not play organized basketball until his
last year of high school...he was a polished soccer player and an
excellent gymnastics performer...earned a 3.5 GPA in the fall
semester...has switched his major from Engineering to Biology...mom is a
pharmacist in Senegal...wants to transfer to WMU after KVCC and eventually
return to Senegal to run a business
Coach's Comments: "Mohamed was not eligible
to play during the first semester. He did the job in the classroom,
and asked to be allowed to return to the team. He loves basketball
and has an excellent attitude toward the game as well as toward his
teammates. He is an excellent leaper and is trying hard to learn the
fundamentals of the game. His contribution this season will depend
upon how rapidly he improves." |

...averaged 16 points, 9 rebounds, and 3.5 assists on
his high school team last year and 13 ppg and 9 rpg his junior
year...coached by Doug Schlaff...1st Team All Conference, Honorable

Scholarship recipient...sustained a small bone injury in his foot the 3rd
day of practice, forcing him to miss almost 2 weeks of early
practices...Elementary Education major...wants to teach and coach
basketball and/or baseball
Coach's Comments: "Pat is a pleasant
surprise. He continues to improve rapidly as he heals from his early
injury. He has average speed and quickness for college basketball,
but he has good instincts for the game. He is a fine shooter who
selects his shots well. He must learn to dribble the ball better,
cut down on his passing miscues, and improve his defense in order to
contribute heavily this season." |

Sports Management...wants to pursue a career in either coaching or sports

He must acquire better guard skills in a brief time. He has the kind

Comments: "Justin is fighting to overcome knee
surgery that was performed two weeks after the start of practice this
fall. The good news is that his meniscus was not torn, as originally
thought. Instead, scar tissue from an earlier injury was removed and
he is expected to be near full strength by December at the latest.
Justin is an athletic front-liner who possesses the skills necessary to
play at the next level. He runs and jumps well and has a nice
outside shot. We hope to see him at full strength as soon as
possible. If he is, he will undoubtedly play a major role in our
success this season." |

"Nate came back quicker and stronger this
season. He has been set back by a broken shooting hand...doctors
opted not to do surgery and he is out for a few weeks to allow for
healing. Nate has a nice mid-range jumper to compliment his low post game.
He also has good court awareness and passing skills. Nate's defense
is improving, and pending proper healing in his hand, he will be a key
performer for the Cougars again this year."

Breslin Center...scored 25 and garnered 17 rebounds against eventual State
Champion Pontiac Northern...Honorable Mention All City Free Press
selection...Honorable Mention Class A All State...Who's Who Among American
High School Students...majoring in Sports Medicine and Physical

is strong around the glass and should get to the line often this
season. He must become more intense defensively. His passing
