Background Info
Chief Randy VanWynen began his fire service career in 1975
with the City of South Haven. He was promoted to Lieutenant in 1986,
Assistant Chief in 1989, and became Chief in 1995. The South Haven Fire
Department experienced tremendous growth in 1996, and Randy was appointed Chief
of the newly created South Haven Area Emergency Services Authority.
His certifications include Fire Officer III, EMT-Specialist,
Fire Inspector, and Rescue Diver. Complimented by his experience as a
residential builder, Chief VanWynen is teaching Building Construction this fall at
KVCC.
