PART-TIME ON-CALL LIBRARIAN
Candidates are invited to apply for the following part-time position located at Kalamazoo Valley Community College’s Texas Township Campus. ON CALL LIBRARIAN Working hours – Hours will be scheduled in advance, or may be “on call” as determined by library staffing needs and may include day, evening and weekend hours at either the Texas Township Campus or the Arcadia Commons Campus. A minimum of 40 hours of training will be provided during the first month of employment. Hourly rate of pay - $23.27 per hour Reports to: Director of Libraries or designee
This position provides quality reference and information services to students, faculty and staff; assists patrons with computer use and searches; provides research skills instruction to patrons in the use of print and electronic information resources; conducts library orientation sessions and tours; recommends book and media purchases for the collection; may supervise day, evening and weekend library customer services and daily operations including opening and closing procedures; other projects as assigned.
EXPECTED QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE: ♦ Masters degree from an ALA accredited library and/or information science program. ♦ Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with colleagues, administrators and patrons. ♦ Minimum of one year library reference or instruction, preferably in an academic setting. ♦ Proficiency with MS Office, particularly Word and Excel. ♦ Schedule flexibility required, including availability to work evenings and weekends.
