Do’s

1. Jot down memory aids on the back of the test.

2. Scan the entire test before you begin writing:

• Helps recall material.

• Helps locate easy and difficult questions.

• Helps organize time.

• Allows some questions to perhaps answer others.

3. Understand all the directions.

4. Use a dictionary if permitted.

5. Begin with the test questions you feel most comfortable answering. This builds confidence.

6. Reread your answers before you turn in the test.

7. Pace yourself.

8. Write legibly and in an organized way.

9. Answer all questions. Blanks are automatically wrong!

10. Try to restate the question in your own words.

11. Draw an illustration to understand the question if that is possible.
